Husavík. Harbour town. I imagined a long wide promenade by the sea, where you can find at least 10 companies offering whale watching trips. I could not imagine finding them and I literally felt the pulsing vibes of this town. Well after a phone call with my cousin I found out that there are just two companies and it really won´t be problem to find them. When we arrived, there was really not much of pulsing life in there. It was just a small fishing village with few houses hidden in fog. Oh an the FOG! Quite a problem when you are in town famous for views of huge mountains rising right above the sea and in front of this scenery there are whales swimming around. We could barely see 2 metres in front and the mountains ...well, we just imagined them. We hesitated a lot whether it´s worth going on sea in this weather, but we decided to give it a try and not to wait - the weather could get even worse and it was not worth stay in Husavík for more than one day waiting for sun. So we went. We bought a 3-hour trip (there was also a 4-hour with a de-tour to a cliff full of puffins, but we figured out it is too foggy to see up the cliff). We put on warm overalls 10 times bigger than our sizes and the boat went on the sea. Thank God they were right and the fog on the sea was much thinner. So we didn´t see the mountains, but definitely could see further than 2 meters. Ok, let´s make this story short. First hour was fine, but soooo boring. We saw nothing. Then few dolphins. And then finally a whale. But in that time, I got sea sick. Yes, I got distracted for a while and was shooting whales in excitement, even when I was thrown from side to side by huge waves. But after a while I got so sick, that even with a whale swimming around the boat, I went to a tiny toilet and puked the rest of the trip. I felt really sick and even the shouts coming from outside about another whales approaching our boat didn´t force me to leave the bathroom. I thanked God when I could step on the ground after 3 hours. So this was Husavík story. But I would do it again. The whales are worth it.
No a hmla! Skrátim to. Prvá hodina v pohode, ale nudáááá. Nikde nič. Potom pár delfínov. A potom konečne veľryba. Ale šla by som určite znova. Tie veľryby za to stoja.
