Mushroom picking

Thanks to the rainy August and my dear boyfriend I went mushroom picking probably the first time in my life. I was feeling like Alice in Wonderland when we entered the forest and I saw soooo many different mushrooms, all the colors and sizes you can imagine. I couldn´t believe I never noticed woods are full of these beauties (and probably they were not when I was there). It is amazing! Really felt like in fairytale!

It was dark and little foggy, still drizzling a bit. I had to concentrate as the ground was covered with old leaves and lot of these small babies were hidden under them. I took like 100 pictures and found like 10 mushrooms of those I was supposed to look for.

We spent the evening cutting them and trying to let dry, but because of all the rain my old mill was very humid, so after few days, we threw out almost half of them, as they were rotten.
But since then, I am always ready to go mushroom picking anytime. I loved every minute of it.
If you know the names of any of these in english, please let me know!

Back to work

I am back to work and the city and I am not really happy about that. Because I have been disorganized for couple of weeks, now my work has piled up and I do not have time to post here. But I promise to get rid of all that undone work slowly and to try post more often here.

Even I still owe you one wedding, I rather show you a little teaser for upcoming posts from my country holliday.

This is the beginning and the end of our short mushroom picking walk :-)

Country living

My dears, I have been busy with wedding pictures I took last week. I will post some of them later. But for now, just a quick note that I am leaving to my cottage before the summer ends to enjoy some country living for a week. Some working, some relaxing, and probably some mushroom picking.. . Because this is what you can find around there now:

See you then!

Books instalations

Some of you might know Matej Kren, the artist famous in my part of world for his book instalation The passage and many more art creations with books.
Here is not so great shot of the art instalation (can´t believe there are no better pictures of it on the internet..):

and some pics from my mobile:

I visit this instalation time to time and always find it amazing. The floor and ceiling except the stripe you are stepping on are actually mirrors, so it feels like you can fall to and endless canyon from books! Definitely worth to visit when you happen to be in Bratislava, and because it is an permanent instalation, it will probably be here for a long time.
He also has some more instalations of this kind, called Book cell and Scanner, and does "stone gardens" made from books - he makes stones from book paper, but I haven´t seen any of these yet.

But recently I came across another book instalations, reading this blog.
These are made by Alycia Martin, a spanish artist, and look like this:

That is quite amazing too. I just wonder how long this kind of art lasts in heavy rain and bad weather...

This first shot from gallery is my favorite, because it is clean and ... I just like it.

And I found also her still images with books, which look great too:

It is called Falling.
Well, it is pretty amazing what you can do with books. If you do not feel like reading any, you can try some different use for it!
